Caribbean Airlines Begins Non-stop Service to London
Caribbean Airlines, the region’s leading carrier, is now bringing Europe closer to Trinidad with the commencement of its non-stop service to Gatwick, United Kingdom which took to the air on Friday 15th June, 2012.
Accounting for 84 per cent of arrivals, the European market is extremely important to the twin-island nation, with the UK contributing 62 per cent of all arrivals into Tobago. This new service by Caribbean Airlines now provides visitors with another option to access our beautiful twin islands.
Connecting the London hub to Trinidad’s vibrant Piarco International Airport, the airline will operate a twice-weekly service which will depart on Thursdays and Saturdays and arrive in the UK on Fridays and Sundays. Flights from London will depart on Fridays and Sundays at 12.50 (UK time) and on arrival in Trinidad, passengers can access connections to Barbados, Guyana, Suriname, Venezuela, Antigua, Grenada, St. Maarten, St. Lucia and Jamaica, which adds to the convenience of this service.
The airline is committed to this service and will be working along with Trinidad and Tobago’s Tourism Development Company to ensure that there are more opportunities for increasing tourism traffic from Europe to not only Trinidad and Tobago, but to the region.
