Air Canada Rouge Welcomed to Port of Spain in Fine Style
PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD: The Ministry of Tourism, supported by the Tourism Development Company and the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, welcomed the inaugural flight of Air Canada Rouge at the Piarco International Airport in grand style on Tuesday 20th December, 2016.
Upon landing, the 282 passengers plus captain and crew were treated to a water salute courtesy the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Services. The Honourable Shamfa Cudjoe, Minister of Tourism welcomed the captain and crew, and made a presentation to the flight’s captain. Minister Cudjoe, joined by Her Excellency Carla Hogan Rufelds– Canadian High Commissioner also assisted with dissemination of keepsake bags containing miniature chac chacs, pepper sauce, black fruit cake and a destination dining guide to the passengers as they disembarked. Passengers were also treated to sorrel and ginger beer, sponsored by Nestle following their exit from the arrivals hall at the Piarco International Airport.
Air Canada Rouge, Air Canada's leisure carrier is operating a 282-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft offering a choice of premium and economy cabins between Toronto and Trinidad. Flights are timed to offer convenient connections to/from all across Quebec and Eastern Canada, U.S. cities including Boston, Baltimore-Washington, Cleveland, Newark, Las Vegas as well as Delhi and Dubai.
